Where Did The Titanic Sail From

The Titanic sailed from Southampton, England on April 10, 1912, on its way to New York City in America, on its maiden voyage.

The crossing got off to a rough start when the Titanic almost hit another ship as it was leaving the dock at Southampton and a small fire broke out in one of the coal bunker rooms.

Nonetheless, the Titanic’s journey continued relatively uneventfully until the night of April 14, when the Titanic struck an iceberg. The collision occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., distress calls were sent out immediately. But help came too late for the 1,512 people who were on board the Titanic when it sank approximately three hours later, at 2:20 a.m.

The RMS Carpathia, the first ship to arrive for a rescue, did save 705 people, who had managed to board lifeboats.
